Em leads her tree/plant walks in an uniquely experiential fashion. Interweaving precise technical information with practical uses, you will learn to use all six senses to connect and know plants on a deeper level. You will practice common tree identification techniques and learn similarities between genera. You will also sample and chat about plants and their herbal uses along the way!

Be ready to walk, bring water, sunhat/sunglasses, tree ID questions and a notebook if you like.

Open Mic

Rachael Davis

Multi-instrumentalist Rachael Davis is as renown for her expressive–and explosive–voice as she is for uniting the often disparate worlds of folk, blues, country, and pop. Davis has lent her voice to countless recordings for friends, film soundtracks, and even video games, but it is her intuitive and empathetic understanding of folk music—“the music of folks” as she calls it, and her original and thoughtful songwriting voice that has earned her fans around the U.S.

Recently, Rachael has collaborated in the critically acclaimed supergroup, The Sweetwater Warblers with  Lindsay Lou and May Erlewine. Rachael now lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband, critically acclaimed bassist, Dominic John Davis, with whom she performs as The Davis Duo. Together they cultivate a diverse community steeped in music, art, travel and love, and are raising a son and daughter at the center of it all.

Eric Engblade Trio

Eric Engblade is “Folk-Rock With Teeth”, a joyful Grand Rapids, MI bequeath, pouring over the tug-o-war between wants and needs. His sound and songs are a soothing serenade, singing you to a place where apple pies cool on windowsills, and children play in cattails; accompanied by church bells ringing in the distance, where he warns to be weary of the “Enthusiastic, Evangelistic, Preacher Man”. He hollers, harmonizes, and whispers truths you wish to believe, transforming listeners to the Forests of Manistee, blanketed beneath the shadow cover of Jack Pines on a summer day, sippin’ coffee, pick’n peaches, while your worries slip away.
