Camp Nurse/Health Officer

Circle Pines Center is now hiring for the position of Camp Nurse/Health Officer for Summer Camp in 2026.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse preferred, but LPN may also apply; demonstrates an interest in both Circle Pines Center’s mission & working with children; detail oriented for record keeping; good communication skills; comfortable with the outdoors and rustic-living.

Responsibilities: Oversees the immediate healthcare needs of 40-70 children between the ages of 7 and 17 as well as 30 staff members. This includes distributing medication and maintaining confidentiality, treating small injuries, responding to emergencies and accompanying campers off site to seek urgent care if necessary, logging all accidents and injuries, communicating with camper parents, and working with other staff to limit the spread of communicable disease.
Dates & Compensation: The Health Officer resides on-site, from June 25 to August 8, and compensated with room & board (homemade, mainly local & organic food) plus a weekly salary. Camp is five weeks (July 5 to August 8). Staff are needed for 1.5 weeks of orientation before camp, and one half week of debrief after camp. Camp nurse may also bring children to camp for the summer.

We are within a few minutes of EMS service and just 12 miles from nearest hospital and urgent care center. We are a member-based, nonprofit 501(c)3, with a summer camp and year-round education and recreation center, celebrating our 87th year. Our camp program combines traditional camp programs with a focus on peace, social justice, environmental stewardship and cooperation.
